The workshop is for students aged 14-18 and is aimed at developing students’ legal knowledge as well as their employability skills. At the workshop, students experience a masterclass, delivered by legal professionals and then use this to take part in a mock trial. The workshop is run in partnership with Inner Temple and Sheffield University.

There are plenty of opportunities for students to put their advocacy skills to practice, helping to develop soft skills such as critical thinking and public speaking. Students will also learn about the procedures which govern our legal system and will gain in-depth knowledge about a specific area of criminal law.

The sessions include a masterclass in cross-examination and examination-in-chief followed by the preparation and delivery of a mock trial. The students are supported in these sessions by legal professionals.
