Making a Difference From Home

Are you looking for active citizenship resources or SMSC learning your pupils can complete from home?

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Young Citizens has produced two FREE home learning activity packs for pupils, supporting their positive mental health at this crucial time by helping them recognise they are never too young to make a difference to the world around them.

Core activities around staying positive, focusing on the things you can control, and taking action to help improve your community, aim to help build self-esteem and self-confidence at a time when we know many pupils need it most.

Key Stage 3

Funded by the Co-op Foundation #iwill Fund this resource is aimed at supporting young people aged 11 – 14 to choose a community space near them they want to make a difference to, and to plan and carry out a mini social action project from their home. Activity ideas range from tackling problems caused by traffic, or combatting the decline in natural habitats, to improving community pride in the local area.

Key Stage 2

Funded by the Pears Foundation #iwill Fund this resource supports children aged 7 – 11 to choose an issue or cause they feel passionate about and to plan and carry out a mini social action project from their home. Activity ideas range from staying in contact with family and neighbours, to looking after the environment.
