After completing his undergraduate Law degree, Rick undertook a Master’s Degree in Law and Restorative Justice before completing his PhD in 2021.  His PhD thesis focussed – broadly – on Law, Restorative Justice and Education with a particular focus on community definitions and power dynamics.  

Rick currently occupies several professional roles; he is an Assistant Headteacher at a Secondary School in Hull.  He lectures criminal, contract, and tort law to further and higher education students and is a legal academic writing and presenting on criminal law, penology, and restorative justice. He sits on the European Forum for Restorative Justice, is an OFQUAL expert in Legal Education and visiting lecturer at a range of higher education providers.
