Legal Workshops

Legal Workshops are a perfect volunteer opportunity for busy legal professionals.

Working with local school children, that attend your offices, you examine topical areas of the law, ranging from Human Rights to the laws surrounding Social Media.

Over 2.5 hours, volunteers work with small groups of young people, aged 13-15, to examine real life case studies and encourage discussion and debate about ethics and the law. Facilitated by experienced trainers from Young Citizens, this engaging volunteering opportunity is a great way for your business to build links with your local community and for legal professionals to support young people to learn about the law and the ways it impacts their everyday life.

Legal Workshops are designed to be interactive and hugely enjoyable for all participants. The students and their teachers state that taking part in the workshops increases young people’s knowledge, helps them to gain key skills, like debating and team working skills, as well as raising their aspirations.

96% of students stated that taking part in the programme increased their knowledge of the law. Download our Legal Workshops leaflet.

“Young Citizens are one of our longest standing community partners and it’s always a pleasure to work with them. Their dedicated team are experts at bringing together schools, students and businesses to create programmes that make a real impact.”
