Young Citizens are seeking to recruit a diverse range of committed educational professionals to join our Teacher Panel. The role of the Teacher Panel is to act as a ‘sounding board’ for new ideas, resources and innovations aimed at developing our nation’s young citizens.

We are looking for:

  • teachers and wider educational professionals who work with children and young people directly across the subject areas but who have a particular interest in SMSC, PHSE, Citizenship, Law, Politics and Social Action/Voluntary Action
  • representation from across the ages groups – from early years to higher education
  • representation from a variety of educational settings, including state schools, academies, faith-based schools, independent schools etc
  • a real commitment to the mission of Young Citizens to create effective communities through engaged young citizens. 

As a member of the Teacher Panel you will be:

  • kept up-to-date with the work of Young Citizens
  • asked to complete a termly online survey– this is to help us understand better how we can better support teachers like you to develop young citizens
  • asked to share your opinions on new programmes, developments of existing programmes and gaps in provision
  • given priority access to, or discounted prices, to pilot new programmes and attend events, as appropriate·         
  • entitled to use the term ‘Member of Young Citizens Teacher Panel’ on  CVs, biographies etc

Duration of membership:

Membership of the Teacher Panel is for a 12 month period (from the point of your application being approved). At the end of the year you will be asked if you wish to continue for another 12 months or if you wish to withdraw from the Panel. Please note that we will only ask active members to renew, and inactive members will have their membership withdrawn at this point. Please note that once membership is terminated you will no longer be able to use the term ‘Member of Young Citizens Teacher Panel’.
