Renata Sims

Renata leads Business Development and Special Projects at Young Citizens, enabling the charity to maintain and expand its reach and deliver high‑quality citizenship education across the UK. Her work focuses on developing partnerships, income generation and designing partnership models that combine funding, volunteering and thought leadership.

She previously served as Deputy CEO at The Girls’ Network and prior to that was the Head of Laboratories Workforce at UKHSA (Test and Trace), leading national workforce planning and delivery during a period of unprecedented demand. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles in other civil service departments and regulatory bodies.

Renata is also a Trustee of Lotus, an East Sussex charity supporting victims of domestic abuse, and volunteers as a befriender with Together Co in Brighton, reflecting her commitment to equity, safety, community resilience and social connection. She is passionate about co‑design and building partnerships that deliver real impact for young people.
