Yvonne is a qualified primary school teacher and was previously the Training and Development Manager at Kidscape for almost three years. Kidscape is a national charity dedicated to keeping children and young people safe from harm preventing all types of abuse both on and offline. Her role involved managing and developing Kidscape’s training offer to schools and youth-focused organisations around safeguarding and child protection, online safety, anti-bullying and peer mentoring.

She also spent over 15 years as the Education and Training Manager at UK Youth, a national youth charity, developing national awards, qualifications and managing their educational programmes. Yvonne really has had young citizens in her heart her whole life and works extremely hard to change lives for the better!

Yvonne said:

“At Young Citizens, we cover a lot of programmes such as Go-Givers and Experts in Schools and I have to say I am really looking forward to being able to get out and see some of the programmes in action. I’m really pleased to be part of the Young Citizens as we reshape our brands to engage more children, young people, and professionals in the range of quality programmes that we offer”.

Tom Franklin our CEO is also very excited about welcoming Yvonne to the team and said:

“Yvonne comes with a huge experience of helping empower young people to play their part in improving their communities and becoming social leaders. She’s also really committed to making sure that those young people who are at greatest disadvantage and are most excluded, are supported to be active citizens. It’s great that Yvonne has joined the team and we’re all excited to be working with her.”
