Treasurer
Órla McKeon-Carter is the Head of Finance at Refugee Council, responsible for the delivery of everything finance related at the charity – from statutory reporting and future financial planning, to day to day payment operations and cash management.
She is an ACA chartered accountant with years of finance experience, having previously held roles at Cancer Research UK with a focus on financial planning & analysis. Prior to that, she was an auditor at Ernst & Young, where she developed an appreciation and understanding of financial controls and reporting. She has a BA in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from Lancaster University.
Having been active in citizenship as a Member of Youth Parliament (MYP) when she was younger, Órla is passionate about the role young people play in shaping society, and enabling them with the tools and opportunities to actively do so.
Órla took over from Cécile Durand-Agbo as Young Citizens’ Treasurer in September 2023.
