Emma’s volunteering journey

“I find it really rewarding to see how far the students are able to progress through mentoring…”

My volunteering journey for Young Citizens started in 2017 as the Regional Co-ordinator for the Bar Mock Trials. I am passionate about encouraging the next generation of students to consider and pursue a career in law. The Bar Mock Trials gives students the perfect opportunity to experience how the law works, to work together in teams and to have fun at the same time.

I particularly enjoy working alongside state school students, many of whom will never have considered a career in law. I find it really rewarding to see how far the students are able to progress through mentoring.

Further to this, I developed my own networking and communication skills. I heartily recommend it to anyone who wants to volunteer and inspire primary and secondary school students.
