Want to use your tech skills to power impactful education work across the UK and help drive our mission forward?

Young Citizens is a UK education charity on a mission to help children and young people thrive in their communities and society. For nearly forty years we’ve equipped young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to understand how democracy and society works, and how they can be a part of it. We’re a small, dynamic team working in each nation with a bold vision for the future. We have a well-loved set of digital lessons, tools and immersive programmes that primary and secondary schools come to each year to help deliver inspiring, quality citizenship education.

As Data Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our education programmes and services through smart data management and engaging digital communications. You’ll maintain and improve our CRM systems (including Salesforce), manage contact data, produce insightful reports, and support audience segmentation for email campaigns. Beyond data, you’ll also contribute to website updates and social media activity, ensuring clear and consistent communication across platforms.

Working closely with the Communications and Engagement Manager and programme leads, you’ll help keep our systems running smoothly and enable data-driven decisions that amplify our impact.

Role snapshot

  • Be the primary administrator of our Salesforce CRM and improve organisational usage
  • Manage data integrations between operational software and websites
  • Support email marketing campaigns through audience segmentation and Spotler workflows
  • Assist with website updates and social media activity to maintain consistent messaging
  • Produce accurate reports and dashboards to inform programme performance and impact
  • Ensure data-handling processes are GDPR compliant and support best practice across the organisation

Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking someone who’s proactive, analytical, and collaborative, with strong database management skills (ideally Salesforce). If you thrive in a busy environment and want to use your technical skills to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience with CRM systems (ideally Salesforce) or strong database management skills
  • Ability to clean, manipulate, and upload data accurately
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and processes (email workflows, social media analytics)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and confidence liaising with external agencies
  • A team player mindset, committed to supporting colleagues and improving our systems
  • Understanding of GDPR and data protection principles

If you’re excited by the opportunity to make a tangible difference through data and digital systems, and want to support a mission-driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
