Young Citizens commended by Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

We are proud to announce that Young Citizens has been ‘highly commended’ by The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Awards as result of our volunteers’ work to inspire, educate and up-skill young citizens of tomorrow.

Last year, The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service was announced to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. The awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding work of local volunteer groups in the UK.

Volunteering success

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Young Citizens’ programmes. These include Experts in Schools: our corporate employee volunteering programme that partners businesses with local schools to inspire young people and improve their citizenship skills.

They also play a huge part in The Mock Trial Competitions, which encourage young people to understand the judicial system and build their skills for a successful career in law or elsewhere.

Thank you!

Our community works incredibly hard to empower and up-skill young people across a variety of programmes. We would like to thank the 800+ volunteers who gave their time and expertise over the past year. You are amazing!
