Young Citizens launches new court and legal education resources for Devon & Cornwall

Young Citizens has partnered with the Police & Crime Commissioner in Devon & Cornwall to develop a new suite of legal education resources for schools.

Court in Action is a new programme aiming to demystify the criminal justice system and the Rule of Law for thousands of secondary school students aged 11- 16.

Between September 2022 and May 2023, teachers in the region will be able to access a free and flexible toolkit of interactive resources on every stage of the legal process, from prosecution and victim support to probation and sentencing.

During the programme, Young Citizens’ legal education team are offering online support sessions for educators who want to become more confident teaching about our criminal justice system.

Some schools will also have the chance to take students on an immersive trip to local courts, discovering the role of judges, lawyers and the police and learning about the impact of crime.
